Is Shapeshifting the answer to injuries

Odo.jpg
So many people have a view on Shapeshifting (My view was to spell it all-one-word, but Google said otherwise. Like I care)
Today I'm going to take a look at injuries, mainly cuts, bruises, and stabs. And whats goes with that.
(Oh and by the way this blog post won't help you in any part of your life. Except maybe your nerd life. AKA the one better than real life)
But say you're Shapeshifting and you change into a big bear. And get into a fight with some Zombie fighting villagers. You're easier than Zombies so they take you down and you've got a big fat cut on your bear arm. Well you get away anyway and change back into a your human form.

Now some nerd groups might say that the wound on your arm stays the same size when you change.(So the proportion gets bigger.)
Others might say that the wound shrinks with the person. I say otherwise.
(The proportion stays the same)
When shape-shifting happens in media it has many default forms. (Whether it's shiny gold goop or blue skin depends on the franchise.)

But anyway, your body/organism-thingy knows how to return to that form. not that form with a big fat cut on the side.

So for some Shapeshifters when a part of your present form gets a cut you just need to change to another form.
BUT it all depends on the species! With Odo, the Changeling, this will will work. But with Mystique, the mutant. it doesn't apply.
